Despite my kitchen still (!) not quite being done, I feel like I’m beginning to get my groove back. I spent the second half of January meandering around Europe in Spain, the Netherlands, and France, which provided some interesting perspectives that were really inspiring....
I’m attempting to reset the monthly updates to the usual mid-month release cycle. The jucier content from my jaunt abroad will have to wait for the next installment. Though amazingly my kitchen still isn’t done....
I had really hoped that this time I’d be able to write that my kitchen project had finally wrapped up. Alas, it was not to be. While I can cook again, there are a few troublesome details getting in the way of me completely unpacking and getting back to my usual rhythms....
My kitchen is still not quite done. I think there’s at least another week of work for the crew to do, optimistically. But we have achieved an important milestone: I can cook again....
For a variety of reasons, this is late by a couple of weeks. Unfortunately this was not because my new kitchen was so close to completion, waiting another week would make the difference....
At this point, it should surprise no one that the kitchen (still) isn’t done. It feels tantalizingly close, yet remains elusive. In the last week, nothing happened on site. Which is not necessarily to say that nothing has happened at all....
My new kitchen still isn’t done. If I’m honest, I doubt it will be done by the time the next edition of this goes out either. In the meantime, my takeout adventures continue....
The kitchen project remains behind schedule. Substantial completion was supposed to happen a couple weeks ago, and the walls still aren’t closed. It’s especially discouraging when nothing has happened, even behind the scenes, for the last couple of weeks....
The kitchen project is behind schedule. For perhaps understandable reasons: they found asbestos that had to be removed, and the electrical work to bring everything up to code has been difficult....
